A 30-day travel policy is not a visa plan. Resolution 5477 requires medical assistance cover for the full visa term for accident, illness, hospitalization, disability, maternity, death and repatriation. This is the short list before you file.

Minimum checklist

• Coverage in Colombian territory.
• Validity ≥ requested visa term.
• Risks: accident, illness, hospitalization, disability, maternity, death, repatriation.
• Policy or certificate in the applicant’s name.
• Readable document, accepted language or translation if required.

What is not enough

• Credit-card “travel insurance” without a 5477-aligned certificate.
• Plans that expire before the visa.
• EPS alone at filing time.
